Stopping in for a quick wash, she rejects Fanny’s aggressive sales pitch, unknowingly sparking resentment. Midway through, Fanny scalds her with hot water and hurls insults. She even snatches Mary’s phone, twisting her messages to accuse her of dishonesty.
